Cottenham Water Tower

Black tarred tower mill built circa 1843, at some time carried 12 sails! Later fitted with 4 patent sails after storm damage in 1884 (see below). Converted to a water tower 1899 after the pollution to wells in Cottenham and outbreaks of typhoid.

Now being restored and converted to a house. Wonderful view from the old tank, but climbing up the central tube into the tank is difficult and claustrophobic!

Opening times - see calendar: To see all events, pull the scrollbar down and up several times or press "look for more" repeatedly.
